You’re probably asking yourself, as I am, what the hell is a copy of Ayn Rand’s The Fountainhead doing sitting on the kitchen bench inside the breezeblock bowels of the Blues HQ?

Is someone here actually reading this?

Mr. R also lets fly that Talbott is a greedy capitalist after Ayn Rand’s own heart. (My translation.) Though an avid reader, I doubt Mr. T has ever picked up “Atlas Shrugged,” let alone the dusty tomes of Adam Smith. However, the businesses Mr. T. has built (including “Mr. T’s Hardware”) have raised the standard of living in our community and provided many good jobs. I’m not buying the socialist piffle that Mr. T’s economic ideas are creating massive income inequalities.

Bioshock got the memo and made a game with an incredible atmosphere, fun gunplay, and a story that is actually intellectual in someway (I mean it was based upon a philosophy by Ayn Rand).

The Federal Reserve has free rein because it is run by bankers and academics. What is required is a green-eye-shade accountant. Formerly there was Alan Greenspan in charge, an Ayn Rand disciple. He was followed by Ben Bernanke and Janet Yellen.

As he later confessed, Greenspan fervently believed in the self-regulation of capital markets . He learned it in Ayn Rand books. In this view, markets were incapable of self-destruction and or inflicting massive harm upon communities. Fraud would be pre-emptively rooted out by the market’s own immune system . Fixed in that belief, he blissfully ignored signs of the coming cataclysm.

Oswalt got a little testy about being reminded of his 2009 Obama fanboy self: @AdamBaldwin If you’d take Ayn Rand’s dick out of your mouth for two seconds, Adam, you’d notice the many uses of “what if” in the bit.

Disha Chhabra is the author of two books, ‘My Beloved’s MBA Plans’ and ‘Because Life is a Gift’. Disha loves life for all it brings. She is passionate about doing her bit for the society through her group Pick-a-Fight.She shares her top five books… ‘The Fountainhead’, Ayn Rand.

A fictional story of love, revenge, ethics, values. Howard Roark is an architect who struggles to live in a world bound by traditions. Dominique Francon is a strong woman who learns to live life on her own terms. Their love hate story forces one to question your own beliefs, make your own value systems, question the wrongs. Ayn Rand’s beautiful and detailed portrayal of her characters is totally engrossing.

Mr. Epstein calls his philosophy “antipollution but pro-development,” which seems positive terrain, though a more extreme ideology does peek out at times. (Quoting Ayn Rand ’s “Atlas Shrugged” is not a good idea if you are trying to pitch yourself as a moderate.)

The new atheism is characterized by rude, snobby and mean-spirited effrontery. As a socialist, I can only wonder at its political agenda. Individuals who feel a need to join exclusive “intellectual” cliques are rarely friends of the oppressed and exploited masses.
Do they apply reason and logic to the highly irrational capitalist system? Or am I correct in suspecting that many of these naturally “superior” individuals are devoted to the cult of Ayn Rand cult, the crackpot queen of pro-capitalist atheism?

Who is John Galt? Fans of the Rand novel “Atlas Shrugged” know the answer to be the protagonist of that book, but one Baldwin County voter took the liberty of writing in the fictional hero for every single office available. One has to be impressed by their stick-to-it-iveness.

Avoid people who bring up dead philosophers. Especially if that philosopher is Ayn Rand. There’s only room for one Grinch this year.

In the Old Testament you don’t get a whole lot of speeches about how great Israel is. To be sure, she is described as the apple of God’s eye, now and then. But even those descriptions make clear that Israel is Eliza Doolittle to God’s Henry Higgins, not some self-made character in an Ayn Rand novel who pulled herself up by her bootstraps and went around kicking butt till God was overcome with admiration and applied to be the national deity of a Great People.
