Interactive audio books. Okay for non-fiction, maybe, where you can whisper sweet nothings to the heroine in a Harlequin Romance novel and hear back some heavy breathing, but what if you’re reading something controversial like Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged”, or Rachel Carson’s “Silent Spring”? You could spend the rest of your life arguing with the Carson book that we need DDT or with the Rand book that Objectivism is atheistic – but all you’d get out of it would be a set of tired tonsils.
