I’ll get right to the fact that Atlas Shrugged 3 gives Rand’s brilliant story a happy and, even on its terms, undeserved ending. With an awful cast (the emaciated actress playing Dagny this time misinterprets the character’s rationality as a blank slate) and forementioned transgressions peppered throughout the 90-plus minute picture, the movie pastes a news montage and begins in earnest with a poorly staged adaptation of the 20th Century Motor Company scene. Everyone looks like an actor and the extras overemote.

Despite the terrible reviews of the previous two films, director James Manera is pushing forward with the final movie in the trilogy adaptation of Ayn Rand’s pro-capitalism novel Atlas Shrugged, a work that has been embraced by the political right wing.

For the final film in the trilogy adaptation of Ayn Rand’s novel - “Atlas Shrugged: Who is John Galt?,” Independent Producers John Aglialoro, Harmon Kaslow and CoProducer Bernie Laramie, together with Director James Manera and Director of Photography Gale Tattersall, set out to facilitate an end-to-end 4K workflow from capture to finish and on through projection. With lofty production goals and a modest budget, Tattersall and Laramie employed the AJA Ki Pro Quad 4K/UltraHD/2K/HD file-based recorder and Canon EOS C500 camera to capture and record more than 40 hours of 4K ProRes 444 footage shot across Downtown Los Angeles and Malibu over the course of 17 days.

…I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; I expect True Blood to go out harder than a train crash in the third Atlas Shrugged movie. This show exists to justify the phrase “Get out while the getting’s good.”

The major focus of the conference, however, is economics. Here’s where the optimism exists. Steve Moore showed how the Reagan recovery outperformed the Obama recovery 24.5% to 11.2%. Prosperity, he and others pointed out, is entirely possible. All that is required is to cut government meddling and spending. The contest, as one speaker pointed out, is not really between conservatives and liberals, it is between the producers and the statists.

If that sounds like Ayn Rand, it is. It was fitting, then, that on Wednesday there was a preview of third installment in the Atlas Shrugged series. There was no question at this conference that collectivism is the enemy and that is an immoral system.

The instigator of the idea is John Aglialoro, a successful businessman who has long been a major funder of free-market causes (he was the financier behind the Atlas Shrugged movie trilogy).
